Buildings that are Multiple Dwellings, including condominiums and cooperatives, which contain 3 or more units of dwelling space, must be registered with the Bureau of Housing Inspection as required by the Hotel and Multiple Dwelling Law N.J.S.A. 55:13A-1 et seq. A fee of $10.00 is required for each building registration at the time of submission.

The law requires that a Certificate of Registration be filed with the Bureau of Housing Inspection within 30 days of receipt of notice. Failure to comply may subject you to penalties. The Certificate of Registration is often a required document when filing a landlord tenant matter.

The required form can be found on the NJ Department of Community Affairs website.
